About Nic Zerfas

About Nic Zerfas, Grand Rapids MN Realtor

I grew up in Grand Rapids and graduated from Grand Rapids High School. Right after that I went to work for a local home builder, and I spent several years building houses. Later I installed passenger elevators down in the Twin Cities. Eventually real estate, and the girl who’s now my wife, brought me back home. I sold building materials at a local lumber yard, started investing in property and flipping a few homes on the side, and in 2021 I went all in and got my real estate license.

Today I’m a realtor with Edge of the Wilderness Realty, and I serve as Vice President of the Itasca County Board of Realtors. Because I spent those years swinging a hammer and selling lumber, I look at a house differently than most. I notice the roof, the foundation, the well and septic, and what a fix will really cost. I’ll tell you straight what I see.

I work with buyers and sellers all over Itasca County. That includes Grand Rapids, Cohasset, Coleraine, Bovey, Deer River and La Prairie, plus the lakes and woods around them. A lot of my work is lake homes, cabins and land up here. Waterfront and rural property come with their own questions, like shoreline rules, septic and well inspections, road access and seasonal use. I know how those work in this area.

If you’re selling, I’ll give you an honest market evaluation, a plan to get your home ready without over-spending, and steady communication until closing. If you’re buying, whether it’s your first home, a move-up or a weekend cabin, I’ll help you find the right place and avoid surprises.

I’m also part of this community outside of real estate. I own God’s Country Ice, so you may have already seen my name in the cooler at the gas station. My family and I spend our free time on the lake, around a bonfire, or out in the woods.
